Introduction and invitation for Inauguration of Dharmakshetra

Dear Friends,
Namaste!
As there are many new comers from India and are not acquainted with us, we would like to introduce our selves: my self Ravindra – an engineer, my better half Meeta Ravindra – a singer, our son Sagar – a law graduate and a daughter Shakti who is in USA, married and lives with her small family. Meeta comes from Wardha (Maharashtra) and I hail from a very small village Mortakka (Omkareshwar Road) at the bank of River Narmada and near one of the most holy places Omkareshwar where we have Amleshwar Jyotirling.
After the completion of my education I worked for 4 yrs. in Gajra Gears Dewas and Hindustan Tractors Baroda, then left for Germany where I stayed for two years. In 1971, I came to Brazil. Intention was to explore new horizons and not to stay here for long but this country has a very special magnetism and the result is I am still here. In 1973, I returned to India for a visit and got married. Meeta was known as a classical singer and won at 14, first prize in Bhajan Sangeet contest on all India base, held in Manav Mandir Bombay. She was on the way to record with HMV when we got married and she preferred to come here.
I was in my profession as an executive in Volkswagen and she was taking care of kids, educating them, pursuing her musical training. In the spare time administrating lessons of classical music (vocal and instrumental), Indian culinary and participating and promoting cultural activities. There were very few Indians over here so most of the cultural activities involved local people too. Life was rush but smooth we were happy socially and financially. In 1990, I visited India and suffered an accident where I was saved by God’s miracle, but had to stay at Choithram Hospital Indore for more than two months and here in Brazil for still 2 more months.
Surely, this was the best time of my life where most of the time I was alone in the room of hospital and had sufficient time for reflections on the way of life, objectives, etc. I realized that running after material objectives was not adjusting in my spiritual goals. I decided to leave the job and join Meeta in her cultural activities. It was really a difficult decision involving the welfare of the family – because the job offered in spite of good salary, security, cars, educational expenses, social status, etc. I had to search for the approval of the family. To my surprise kids and wife agreed with the idea. At the end of the same year I set my self free from the employment tie.
In 1993, Meeta wanted to know where she stands in relation of new singers after 20 years staying away. So she participated in the All India Gazal Contest organized by Moghul Monarch that had semifinals in Bombay and finals in Calcutta. Because of her outstanding performance in addition to the presents she received three years exclusive contract for recordings with CBS (Sony) India and cut an album named “Quayamat” right after the contest.
This event gave us an impulse to work in favor of Indian Culture. Same year we launched first album of Meeta – “Gayatri Mantra”. In 1994 we presented a 24 hours course of Mantras, which was a great success. To support the course came the album “Mantras – Sons Cosmicos (Cosmic Sounds). Afterwards it didn’t stop. Just to name: Shivala (devotion), Ghazals (emotion) and Qayamat. Then started the sequence of CDs and now we have 13 in the market.
So, Shakti is married and happy with her family, Sagar has finished his studies. Since childhood he is very much interested in Indian culture. He plays tabla well and accompanies his mother in all concerts and programs. He decided to work with us in spite of pursuing his profitable profession. He is the commercial director of “Meeta Ravindra Comercio de Fonogramas Ltd.”
We feel that we don’t have any more liabilities but moral and social obligation to serve the society -YES. "Every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty".
We always had strong wish for the dedication to our culture, religion and philosophy. With this instinct we are working firmly for more than a year and half. We reformed our home. And prepared rooms for the visitors, one library cum class room, and Dharmakshetra where we want to keep idols for worship, pujas, yagyas, bhajans, kirtans, satsangs and other religious activities. Our idea is to make a small shrine in Dharmakshetra, where about 60 people can sit for puja etc. which can be converted in a temple in future and an extension of one more area for 100 people sitting capacity for courses, lectures, shows, and for the projections of serials like Ramayan, Mahabharat, etc.
By the grace of God the time is to realize the dream as we have the opportunity to inaugurate the place and with great pleasure would like to invite you with family for this occasion when we will be celebrating Makar Sankranti also.

भाइयों और बहिनों,

सादर नमस्ते।

हमारा निमंत्रण स्वीकार कर आप लोगों ने जो यहाँ पधारने की अनुकंपा की है उसके लिये हम आपके अत्यंत आभारी हैं।

मैं इस स्थल – धर्मक्षेत्र के उद्देश्य और प्रयोजन के बारे में कुछ शब्द कहना चाहूँगी।

वर्षों से हमारी यह अभिलाषा रही है कि हम येन केन प्रकारेण अपनी संस्कृति का इस भूमि पर प्रचार कर सकें। मैं स्वयं कई सालों से इस अभियान में प्रयत्नशील हूँ। परंतु पिछले कुछ वर्षों से रवि और सागर ने भी इस कार्य मे सक्रिय एवं सम्पूर्ण सहयोग देना प्रारंभ किया है। हमारी इस लगन को देखते हुये परिवार की मित्र रोज़ानी भी यथायोग्य सहायता कर रही है।

आरंभ में केवल भारतीय संस्कृति की सेवा का उद्देश्य था परंतु एक आकस्मिक घटना ने एक नया मोड़ देकर उद्देश्य में धार्मिक संपुट भी जोड़ दिया। सक्षेप में घटना यूँ हुई -

हम दोनों घर के बाहरी दरवाजे पर रोज़ानी को बिदाई देने के लिये खड़े थे, वह हर हफ्ते की तरह अपने घर बाउरू जाने की तैयारी में थी, इतने में अकस्मात् एक चोर ने हमारे सिर पर पिस्तोल तान दी उसका इरादा कार ले जाने का था, मैने उसका विरोध किया तो मेरे और रवि के सिर को निशाना बना कर कई बार घोड़ा दबाया, परंतु भगवत्कृपा से एक गोली भी नहीं निकली और वह भाग खड़ा हुआ। हादसे के बाद हमें अपनी ग़लती का आभास हुआ। और विचार करने पर भान हुआ कि हमारा यह पुनर्जन्म ईश्वर की महान कृपा से हुआ है। अतः हमने तेरा तुझको अर्पण करने का निर्णय लिया। इस घटना के बाद सुरक्षा के लिये घर में परिवर्तन करना ज़रूरी समझा गया दोनों दीवारों को उँचा बनाया गया और भी कई परिवर्तन किये गये। कुछ नये कमरे बने और यह स्थान भी निर्मित हुआ जहाँ पर सागर का आफिस बनाने का इरादा था। सागर स्वयं भी भारतीय संस्कृति में रुचि लेने लगा था अतः उसने सुझाव दिया कि वह दो कमरों से काम चला लेगा और इस स्थान पर एक धार्मिक केंद्र बना कर आप दोनों अपने सपनों को साकार करें।

पिछले कई वर्षों से धर्म का अध्ययन और मनन किया और इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुँचे कि साधना के कई मार्ग हैं जो ईश्वर प्राप्ति की ओर ले जाते हैं जिनमें भक्ति का मार्ग सबसे श्रेष्ठ है। इसी खोज में हमारा संपर्क हरिद्वार स्थित शांतिकुंज के संचालक महामना आदरणीय डा. प्रणव पंड्या और आदरणीया श्रीमती शैलबाला पंड्या से हुआ। इनकी कृपा से हमें इस युग के महान ज्ञानी पंडित श्रीराम शर्मा द्वारा निर्देशित गायत्री भक्ति मार्ग का किंचित सा भान हुआ है, जिसका हम अनुकरण करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। इस मार्ग की विशेषता यह है कि गायत्री भक्ति केवल आध्यात्मिक ही नहीं अपितु यह स्थूल और सूक्ष्म वैज्ञानिक तत्वों पर आधारभूत है। शांतिकुंज के शोध संस्थान बृह्मवर्चस में आधुनिक उपकरणों द्वारा प्राचीन और अर्वाचीन वैज्ञानिक तथ्यों का विश्लेषण और मानव हित से सम्बन्धित नई खोजें की जाती हैं। यहीं पर यंत्र, मंत्र, तंत्र आदि का मानव जीवन पर क्या प्रभाव होता है इसका वैज्ञानिक रूप से निरीक्षण किया जाता है और तर्कसम्मत विधियों से समझाया और प्रकाशित किया जाता है।

धर्मक्षेत्र की योजना और निर्माण आदरणीय डा. प्रणव पंड्या के उत्साहवर्धन और प्रेरणा से हुआ है अतः यहाँ की समस्त गतिविधियां उन्हीके पावन चरणों में समर्पित हैं।

हमारी ओर से एक निवेदन है कि क्षेत्र अभी पूर्णतया निर्मित नहीं हुआ है गायत्री माता की एक सुंदर मूर्ति, गर्मी के दिनों के लिये वातानुकूलन, बाहर काँच की खिड़कियाँ, साउंड, विडियो और प्रोजेक्शन सिस्टम आदि और भी कई आवश्यक्ताएं हैं जो आर्थिक स्थिति की अनुकूलता से उपलब्ध की जायेंगी। यह सब कुछ हमारे बहुत सीमित आर्थिक साधनों से निर्मित हुआ है, इसलिये सारी त्रुटियों और कमियों के लिये केवल हम ज़बाबदार हैं। किसी भी संशोधन और सुझाव के लिये हम आपके आभारी होंगे। यही विनय है।

अब मैं कुछ शब्द आज के उत्सव के बारे में कहना चाहती हूँ -

गायत्री मंत्र में विलक्षण शक्ति है जो शक्तिपुंज सूर्य का प्रारूप है। गायत्री की आराधना सूर्य की उपासना है। इस स्थल की अधिष्ठात्री और इष्टदेवी गायत्री होने के कारण मकर संक्रांति से पवित्र और महत्वपूर्ण अवसर और क्या हो सकता था गतिविधियों को प्रारंभ करने के लिये विशेषकर जब आज सूर्य भगवान उत्तरायण होने जा रहे हैं।

मकर संक्रांति का पर्व हिन्दुओं का प्रमुख पर्व है। यह पर्व दूसरे पर्वों से इस सन्दर्भ में भिन्न है कि यह देश के विभिन्न प्रांतों में अलग-अलग तरीके से और कहीं-कहीं तो अलग-अलग नामों से मनाया जाता है।यह पर्व धार्मिक आस्था का प्रतीक तो है ही साथ ही इस पर्वे के साथ कई मान्यतायें जुड़ी हुई हैं। पृथ्वी का एक राशि से दूसरी राशि में प्रवेश करना संक्रांति कहलाता है और इसी प्रकार जब पृथ्वी भ्रमण करते हुए मकर राशि में प्रवेश करती है तो मकर संक्रांति होती है।

रविवार सूर्य का दिन है। इसलिए संक्रांति के दिन सूर्य देव का बल बढ़ेगा। ज्योतिष की दृष्टि से शुभ कार्यों की शुरूआत के लिए यह अनुकूल घड़ी है। आदि काल से ही पौष मास में सूर्य के मकर राशि में प्रवेश करने पर मकर संक्रांति का उत्सव मनाया जाता है। वर्ष के शुरुआत के छह मास तक सूर्य उत्तरायण में और बाद के छह मास दक्षिणायण में रहते हैं। जब सूर्य उत्तरायण में रहते हैं तो उस अवधि में जन्म लेने वाले बच्चे स्वभावत: अधिक सौम्य और सद्गुण संपन्न होते हैं। श्रीमद्भगवत गीता में तो मृत्यु के समय भी उत्तरायण सूर्य की महत्ता बताई गई है। यही कारण है कि भीष्म पितामह जी महाभारत के युद्ध में घायल होकर मरणासन्न अवस्था में बाणों की शैय्या पर तब तक पड़े रहे जब तक सूर्य उत्तरायण न हो गया। उन्हें इच्छा मृत्यु का वरदान था। अत: स्वेच्छा से शुभ समय जानकर उन्होंने शरीर का त्याग किया।

मकर संक्रांति के पश्चात जब सूर्य उत्तरायण में हो जाता है तो अनेक शुभ कार्य होने प्रारंभ हो जाते हैं। बहुत से शुभ संस्कार जैसे चूड़ा कर्म, अक्षारंभ, यज्ञोपवीत आदि तथा अनेक शुभ कार्य जैसे, गृह प्रवेश आदि सूर्य के उत्तरायण में आने के बाद अर्थात मकर संक्रांति के बाद ही किए जाने चाहिए।

उत्तरायण में दिन बड़े हो जाते हैं और प्रकाश बढ़ जाता है। इस दौरान रातें छोटी होने लगती हैं। दक्षिनायन में इसके ठीक विपरीत होता है। हम लोग दक्षिण गोलार्ध में रहते हैं अतः यहाँ सूर्य जब उत्तरायण होते हैं तब दिन छोटे होने लगते हैं।

मकर संक्रांति के पीछे पौराणिक कथा है कि इसी दिन गंगा जी स्वर्ग से उतरकर भगीरथ के पीछे-पीछे चलकर कपिलमुनि के आश्रम में जाकर सागर में मिल गई। गंगाजी के पावन जल से ही राजा सगर के साठ हजार शापग्रस्त पुत्रों का उद्धार हुआ था। इसी घटना की स्मृति में गंगासागर नाम से तीर्थ विख्यात हुआ और प्रतिवर्ष 14 जनवरी को पश्चिम बंगाल स्थित गंगासागर में मेले का आयोजन होता है।

संक्रांति के अवसर पर अन्य अभीष्ट देवों की पूजा तो होती है किंतु सूर्य-पूजन सर्वप्रधान है। गायत्री सूर्य का ही अभिप्राय है अतः गायत्री मंत्र के द्वारा सूर्य को ही आहुतियाँ दी जाती हैं।

तो आइये हम लोग दक्षिण भारत के साँओ बेर्नार्दो नामक शहर में इस पर्व को धर्मक्षेत्र में मनाने की परिपाटी प्रारंभ करें।
